The Smart*Set 2000™
intelligent press control system has been designed specifically for
printers who want to achieve new levels of flexibility and maintain ease of
operation. Engineered to optimize graphical user interface (GUI)
technology, the Windows™-based, color-coded touch screens, and
easy-to-read displays at both the main console and individual print units,
show press configurations and production settings while providing control
of all press functions from make-ready to wash-up.
Built-in prompts make learning and using the system simple. The
intuitive operator interface and consistent screen layout shortens the
learning curve while minimizing chance for human error. Operators input new
job parameters at the main console and Smart*Set 2000™ positions the print gap,
presets tension, and automatically sets register without web movement. Each
print is equipped with an intelligent interface ensuring real-time
adjustment of all functions with simultaneous feedback to the main console.
The Smart*Set 2000™
control system provides storage and retrieval for up to 1000 jobs instantly
accessible from the console storage database. Completed jobs can be backed
up to CD ensuring that optimum press settings are archived with the job
docket and easily retrieved for future re-runs
Smart*Set 2000™
is an open architecture control system which can easily integrate auxiliary
equipment such as a splicer, web guide, coater, dryer, cooling system, or
sheeter, as well as support conventional third party software, providing
greater control of production schedules and accounting.
Smart*Set 2000™
includes a password-protected, programmed maintenance screen that prompts
routine maintenance schedules and logs their completion. A built-in,
real-time diagnostic system alerts operator of press deviations and
automatically updates the display status once the condition is corrected.
The system's open architecture platform also provides a modem interface for
on-line remote systems diagnostics.
Robustness, flexibility, an intuitive interface and a faster learning
curve truly make Smart*Set 2000™
